Free Community Christmas Dinner added 12 new photos.
It’s all coming together. After a very long day, we are once again nearly ready for tomorrow’s BIG EVENT!
Our kitchen was very busy today! Sweet potatoes were first on the list, initial steps for preparation for the 200 home bound meals was next, then came the carving of 36 turkeys!
Setting up the hall and decorating took up the rest of our very busy day. Hanging up very unique decorations that were made especially for our event by Alamosa school children filled our hall with love!
And final additions to the Toy Shop were many stuffed toys, handmade baby blankets and so many crochet stockings I lost count!
Tomorrow (Christmas Day) will start at 7am for the first group of volunteers and committee members. Prep of mashed potatoes, green beans w/bacon, gravy will finish up our turkey dinner menu. Final additions of the “hot food items” will go into our 200 home bound meals, and these meals will be out the door by 10:30am. And this is no easy feat!
Our guests will start arriving and will be seated in our dining area and served their delicious Christmas Dinner. Dinner will be served from 11am to 3pm tomorrow. Hope to see you there!
